Abu Dhabi Golf Championship 2010 – Paul Lawrie in the swing

Abu Dhabi Golf Championship 2010 Masters Odds: PAUL LAWRIE had fierce family rivalry to thank for his scorching start at the Abu Dhabi Championship yesterday.

The Scot soared to just a shot off the lead with a flawless six-under 66 – his best opening round for more than two years.

And Lawrie put his stunning show down to having spent the last fortnight locked in battle with his two golf-mad sons on a nine-hole course in Dubai.

That preparation helped the 1999 Open champ reel off six birdies on the National course yesterday to sit among nine players in a share of fourth, while Ian Poulter tops the board on seven under with fellow Englishman Richard Bland and South Africa’s Keith Horne.

Lawrie said: “We were over in Dubai with the kids for nearly two weeks and they have a nine-hole course at Jebel Ali so I played a lot of golf over the festive break.

“I didn’t practise and just warmed up playing nine holes each day with Craig and Michael – they are both extremely keen.

“Craig is 14 and plays off eight and Michael, who’s 11, is down to 14-handicap so they are both very handy. It’s tough to beat them but I did!

“So I’m not surprised to have made a great start because I have played a lot of golf with my two boys and hit the ball really well. It’s just nice to be back.”

Lawrie’s score was his lowest first-round tally since he began the 2007 Dunhill Links Championship with a 66.

And the highlight came with a great escape at the par-five eighth, which he was playing as the 17th.

Lawrie found a fairway bunker with his tee shot then slipped while playing his three wood out of the sand. The ball veered far right into a waste area from where he managed to get up and down for birdie.

Joint leader Poulter saved the best for last with a brilliant 70-foot downhill putt on 18.

He said: “I hit it probably 10 feet too hard but it was on line and lucky enough it hit the back of the hole then popped up and dropped.

“I wasn’t expecting to come out quite as fast as that after a five-week break but I will certainly take it.”

Alongside Lawrie on six under are Alvaro Quiros and Sergio Garcia plus world No. 10 Rory McIlroy.

what level do you reach?

Posted by admin on 12 Enero 2010

What level should golf talent have? What power does golf talent occupy? From Tiger Woods, Jack Nicklaus, you can get the answer. Not everyone is Tiger Woods, nor is Jack Nicklaus, and what level do you reach?

We speak often of levels of golf talent. Looking at the great players of the past brings this value to the forefront. Today we have Tiger Woods who provides a way to view those greats when they were in their prime. Tiger’s almost perfect swing, mental toughness, and his capacity to strike fear in the minds of players today, indicates this importance of great golf talent.

Jack Nicklaus carried the same power. Most of the writers of his day would say Jack’s best was contained within the sportsmanship he showed. He never desired any other golfer to falter so he could occupy the win. Jack depended on his personal golf talent to be the best golfer on the course.

Regular golfer’s show some level of game. It may be harder to locate, but to play any level of golf, the mindset requires a degree of golf talent. We all experience high quality golf shots at some time during a round.

During any round played you have created a wonderful tee shot; a perfectly placed approach shot; or a clean putting stroke. Only after the round, you remember only the shots that caused displeasure. The 19th hole is where we all discuss them and the few dollars lost to a “lucky bounce”.

Why not make some mental modifications to develop a higher degree of golf talent? Those good moments need your immediate reflection so your talents appear. When it does, recall how it felt; what sounds you heard, where your feet, shoulders, hips, and head were positioned to pull that shot off?

After the round when you’re in a still place, recall those moments. Replay all facets mentally. It takes practice. An exercise of positive recall. When you go out again, your ability to remindl those images increases and your practice lift your degree of golf talent.

Practicing this mental exercise also provides you the power to refocus and be ready again, thereby, increasing your degree of golf talent. Removing many bad thoughts are slowly, deliberately, replaced with the positive ones. Over time, your golf game improves.

positive reinforcement practice is one way you could replay those better shots and ingrain them in your mind. When you do hit one, and you know it, replay that image. Mentally feel where your head was; shoulder were level and turned; hand positions through impact; the crisp clip as the club and fairway wood pinched the ball together; even try to mentally capture smells and sounds around you.

PGA Tour SBS Championship 2010 Winner “Geoff Ogilvy”

Posted by admin on 7 Enero 2010

PGA Tour SBS Championship 2010 Golf Betting Winner: The SBS Championship of PGA Tour 2010 has successfully completed. Geoff Ogilvy successfully defended his title at Kapalua as he won the season-opening SBS Championship by a stroke in Hawaii. Geoff Ogilvy believes he has learnt from last year, when he started the season in a blaze of glory before going missing during the business part of the golf season.

After successfully defending his title at the $US5.6 million ($A6.03 million) SBS Championship on Sunday, Australia’s best player vowed he would hit far fewer balls this year.

The Australian shot a final-round 67 at the par-73 Kapalua Resort Plantation Course to win by a shot at 22 under par from South Africa’s Rory Sabbatini and land the tournament of the previous year’s PGA Tour event winners for a second year in a row.

American Matt Kuchar was third of the 28-man field at 19 under with his compatriot Sean O’Hair in a tie for fourth at 18 under with Scotland’s Martin Laird.

Ogilvy started the day one shot back on third-round leader and US Open champion Lucas Glover but as the front runner dropped off the leaderboard, Ogilvy’s new target became Sabbatini.

Sabbatini had given the leaders plenty to think about with a bogey-free, 10-birdie 63 that gave him the clubhouse lead until Ogilvy brought up the rear and took the title, the Australian reaching the 18th tee with a one-stroke lead and needing to avoid bogey or worse to force a play-off.

Laird had been in contention all week and at 19 under after 15 holes was just three shots back only to bogey 16 and 17 to ruin his hopes of victory.

There was eagle opportunity at the par-five 18th but the Scot’s long putt just missed right and Laird’s birdie nevertheless bumped him up into a top-five finish at 18 under.

Ogilvy, 32, collected $1.12 million for his seventh victory on the US Tour.

Acne Scar Removal – Getting Rid of Ugly Acne Scars

Posted by admin on 5 Enero 2010

Thousands of people all over the world suffer from acne scars. These are unsightly marks caused by the skin’s attempt to heal an acne spot. How do you know for sure if you have acne scars or just acne spots? After the acne spot goes away (stops being red, inflamed, or painful), the skin begins the healing and remodeling process, leaving a red or hyperpigmented mark on the skin. If one of these marks persists for more than a year, you have an acne scar.

If you are one of the many people who suffers from acne scars, you might be looking into acne scar removal products or services. One of the best reasons to do this is not “selfish” – your health should always come before the opinions of others. Acne scars are often a source of low self-esteem, and acne scar removal can bring newfound confidence to people with even the worst acne scars. No matter the severity of acne scar, there are treatment options for all of them.

Some people would rather heal their acne scars themselves, because they are embarrassed or ashamed of seeing a dermatologist or doctor (or they have never gone to a dermatologist before). This option is good because you can do your research and find the best product for your skin type and the severity of your acne scars. Not all products are created equal, so do your research. To help get you started, see this list of the top 7 acne scar treatment options.

There are also measures you can take that are available at your local CVS. Try picking up some topical vitamin E cream and putting it on the scar. Vitamin E is a powerful antioxidant, but it will not reach the skin through your diet. The only way to see a scar healing benefit from vitamin E is with topical vitamin E.

In most cases, it takes the skin up to a year to completely heal itself after an acne scar forms. This is known as the remodeling process. Don’t worry, your acne scar will become invisible with treatment in a matter of days or weeks, but deep down under the skin there is still invisible “damage”. To speed up this process, avoid sun exposure, use topical vitamin E, retinol A, and take supplemental anti-oxidants to dominate free radicals. You can start to get rid of your acne scars today, you have nothing to lose except those unsightly scars!
